Luxury Vinyl Tile

LVT (or Luxury Vinyl Tiles) is becoming increasingly popular as an affordable alternative to wood or stone flooring. It’s innovative design features include a scratch resistant surface, waterproof finish, and realistic look of wood, stone or ceramic tiling. LVT is available in many different effects including ceramic tiles, wood planks and stones which can be chosen to complement the aesthetic of your choice.

We have a wide variety of the top brands, designs and ranges of LVT to choose from so that you can find the perfect one for your home.  A selection of the brands and examples of our luxury vinyl tiles can be seen below and we also provide free in-home consultations so that you can see the flooring in your own environment and get a feel for how they’ll look.

Ranges, installation and styles

Ranges

Whilst all LVT share some common features (such as multiple layers which have been compressed together to create the floor covering), each range is typically designed with a primary goal in mind: that may be to provide the most realistic looking appearance, the most durable finish or the most straight-forward installation process. We will be able to advise on which range is right for your needs.

Installation

At First Class Flooring, we have years of experience in supplying and fitting LVT flooring alongside wooden flooring and carpets. This experience combined with the interlocking click system commonly found in LVT ensures an efficient installation service.

Styles

The design layer of the LVT usually includes a high definition photograph which is how LVT is able to offer such a realistic appearance in a full range of styles including wood floor LVT, stone LVT and ceramic look LVT.

What to consider when choosing LVT flooring

Flooring that fits any room

Any room of your home can benefit from luxury vinyl tile flooring. These benefits show just some of the uses:

  • durability is great for hallways and high traffic areas such as living rooms
  • sound reducing features make LVT ideal for upstairs including in bedrooms or nurseries
  • waterproof qualities makes luxury vinyl tiling suitable for bathrooms, kitchens and any other spaces with lots of water such as utilities or porches
  • LVT can also deal with high temperature and humidity allowing conservatories to benefit from this flooring
  • stairs can also be floored with LVT due to the high level of flexibility and thin nature of the flooring
  • rooms with underfloor heating can also use luxury vinyl tiling as neither heat nor moisture cause a problem

Why choose LVT flooring?

One of the features that makes LVT stand out is the combination of layers which act together to bring different properties to your flooring.  Usually there is a minimum of 5 layers including:

  • Top layer of transparent coating which protects the lower layers and usually has scratch resistance and stain guarding technology
  • Design layer which is usually a high definition photograph providing the realistic appearance of natural wood, stone or tiling
  • Stabilising fibre glass layers
  • Impact resistant core layers
  • Moisture resistant backing layers preventing warping or disfiguration of tiles

In addition to the features offered by each of these layers, a click fitting system is usually added to LVT tiles to provide a straightforward way for the floor to be installed.

In addition, LVT flooring is easy to clean, can offer anti-slip properties and some manufacturers even offer up to 25 year guarantees.
