What to consider when you're choosing a new carpet

Flooring that fits your lifestyle and budget

The best carpet for you will be different depending on your budget, lifestyle and the area in which you are laying it. You might like to consider:

  • Is this for a high traffic area such as hallway or stairs?
  • Do you have pets, children or hobbies that are likely to leave dirt and marks on the carpet?
  • Are you looking for your carpet to provide a little luxury in a relaxing area such as a lounge or bedroom?
  • What is your budget?

All of these things will impact on the best carpet for you. If you are looking for flooring for a hallway or an area that is likely to need extensive cleaning, you are likely to want a durable carpet that is easy to clean. On the other hand, looped carpets can be very soft and luxurious but are not best suited to pets with sharp claws!

At First Class Flooring, we offer a wide variety of ranges, colours and styles of carpet to fit your individual needs. We know that every home is different, which is why we carry such a large selection of carpets. Whether you are looking for a luxurious plush carpet or something more practical and hard-wearing for a high traffic area, we have the perfect product for you.

When it comes time to replace your flooring, don’t settle for anything less than the best. First Class Flooring has a wider variety of carpets to fit your lifestyle. You’re sure to find the perfect flooring for your home at a price that suits you.

Why choose carpet?

Carpets add comfort and colour to a room. They are particularly popular amongst those who like to go barefoot and will benefit not just from the feel but also the warmth that it provides. Here are some more reasons that people give when choosing carpet as their flooring option:

  • to improve soundproofing
  • they like the look and feel of carpets
  • carpets are warm underfoot
  • to provide grip on stairs
  • because their pet dogs find other flooring types uncomfortable to walk on
  • because it can easily be lifted to access floorboards if work is needed to be done underneath (i.e. plumbing)
  • the cushioning means that anything dropped on a carpet is less likely to break than if it were dropped on a wooden or laminate floor

These reasons can help to determine the purpose of the carpet. If you are looking for something to add comfort and insulation, then a thick pad is a good option. If you are looking for something that will be durable and easy to clean, consider a low-pile carpet.

Whatever your reasons, we’d be happy to offer advice and have a range of carpets available to suit all of these needs.
